Words & Phrases

  • It’s a little cold today, so I am using (my heater / a portable heater).

  • How are your eyes after the surgeries?

    • I started to feel pain in my eyes.

    • My eyes started to hurt.

  • My lower back (hurt / was in pain) hunched over making the candy-lei.

  • Take over (phrasal verb) = to assume control of something or to replace someone in their role

    • The new manager will take over next month.

    • When she got sick, her colleague took over her classes.

    • A tech company is trying to take over its smaller competitor.

  • We did a chant and the teacher (chanted back / responded to it).

  • I have a license to drive a manual.

    • Can you drive stick?
