Words & Phrases

  • I’m worried about (getting / catching) a cold.

    • I borrowed Lucas’s humidifier and put it in my office for the day.

  • I took a day trip with the rose garden volunteers.

    • In Junior high school, kids often go to Kyoto on a class (excursion / trip).

  • I went to Niigata and saw (fall / autumn) roses.

  • The serving of soba was very big.

Appropriate Language

  • Perennial plant (noun) (pəˈrɛ.ni.əl / pe-REN-ni-al) = a plant that lives for more than two years, growing and blooming each season before going dormant and returning again

    • Hostas are hardy perennial plants that come back every year.

    • He prefers perennial plants because they require less replanting.
