The novel originally appeared as a serial in a popular magazine.
Serial (noun); A story, show, or publication released in separate parts (episodes or instalments), typically on a regular schedule.
I used to listen to a crime serial on the radio every week.
That TV serial kept viewers hooked with its dramatic cliffhangers.
Many famous shrines are mentioned in the novel. (NOT appear in the novel)
Once I visited a second-hand book store and I couldn’t stop sneezing.

“A plaster” is also called “a Band-Aid”.
A plaster is a small sticky strip with a piece of soft padding used to cover small cuts or wounds.
Plaster (verb) = to cover something thickly or completely
He plastered the wall with posters.
Her face was plastered with makeup.
A bandage is a long strip of cloth used to wrap around larger wounds, sprains, or injuries.
My arm is in a cast for six weeks.
When I broke my arm, the doctor put it in a cast for six weeks.

“Injury” can be used with most body parts to show that you injured that specific part.
