Using "Go" + Verb-ing (Activities)

  • This is the most common way to talk about hobbies or leisure experiences. We use this for activities that involve moving from one place to another. 

    • Go swimming

    • Go shopping

    • Go hiking 

    • Go skiing 

    • "Last weekend, I went hiking in the mountains. It was a great experience!"

Using "Go to" + Places

  • This describes the experience of visiting a specific destination or event.

    • Go to a concert

    • Go to a museum

    • Go to the beach

    • Go to a festival

    • "I went to a jazz concert for the first time last month. I loved the music."
