Words & Phrases
It’s (gotten / become) so humid these past couple of days. Today is really muggy.
I sometimes (pat / put) a cold wet towel on my face.
I got new medicines from the doctor, so now I am waiting to see if the new medicines work.
I saw online that tourists often buy foundation (tape / stickers) to (conceal / hide) their tattoos.
Sag (Verb) = To sink, droop, or hang down in the middle, typically due to weight, pressure, lack of strength, or age
Her shell is sagging inward, so I think she is having appetite problems.
As I’ve gotten older I feel like my face is starting to sag.
Our curtain rod was sagging, so we replaced it.
I am performing two days in a row. One the first day, I have two performances but only one performance on the second day.
The performance is at the station on the eighth floor. (= it’s in the station building on the eighth floor)
Our chief stable manager has to exercise the horses daily in the early morning.
Has your company been sued by animal rights activists?
I have to run to catch the bus, then I am out of breath! (= I am huffing and puffing)
On the day my husband is off he (drives / takes) me to the station by car.
Some days I pick a handful of blueberries, other days I pick several handfuls.
Short Dialogues
A: What time are you going to Ginza?
B: We are (gathering / meeting) at noon. (Don’t say “gathering time”, because we say the time after)
A: Take care, it’s going to be so muggy that day!
