I went to a new doctor, but should didn’t treat me. She convinced me to go back to my previous doctor.
She said my doctor might refer me to a large hospital.
My doctor might write me a letter of introduction to another doctor.
I saw this statue and it reminded me of my high school teacher. (We don’t often use the word “nostalgia”, we usually explain the feeling something gives us)
This song brings back so many memories of my childhood.
That smell takes me right back to my grandmother's kitchen.
That picture makes me think of my old neighbourhood.
The restaurant looks and feels like a traditional Japanese home.
The eel restaurant we went to wasn’t that great. I felt a bit bad since my daughter treated us.
That sounds disappointing. (= situation)

This writer is a bit eccentric and quirky.
“Eccentric” describes someone who acts or dresses a little strange or different, but in a fun and harmless way.
"Our old art teacher was eccentric—he always wore colourful hats inside the house."
“Quirky” describes someone who has unusual but cute or charming habits.
"She has a quirky habit of talking to her plants every morning.”

-ED describes the person’s reaction

Balcony
Where is it? Attached to an upper floor of a building.
Key Feature: It hangs off the side of a building and has safety railings. It is usually small.
Deck
Where is it? Attached to a house (usually in the back garden).
Key Feature: It is raised slightly off the ground and made of wood
Patio
Where is it? On the ground level, right next to the house.
Key Feature: It sits flat on the earth and does not have railings.
Terrace
Where is it? On a flat roof, or built into a hillside.
Key Feature: It is a large, open outdoor space higher up than a patio.
