In this lesson, students will develop vocabulary and conversation skills by talking about travel and focusing on Thailand.

Lesson Notes September 1, 2026 (Elementary)

Words & Phrases

  • You’re voice sounds a little hoarse. Did you catch a cold? (= a rough voice, usually caused by a sore throat, illness, or shouting)

    • Do you still have any symptoms?

    • Do you have any aftereffects from being sick?

Travel

Taxi and Transport

  • “How long does it take to (place)?” (This asks about the amount of time, this is usually better than asking about “how far is it”)

    • If you are walking it might better to ask “How far away is (place)?”

      • How long does it take to walk to (place)?

Restaurants & Ordering Food

  • “Do you have an English menu?”

  • “I don’t like chicken. What do you recommend?”
