Words & Phrases

  • The weather today is great for gardening.

  • What herbs are you growing in your garden?

    • I planted creeping thyme, and it’s spread like a carpet across my yard.

    • Should herbs be grown in the shade or sunlight?

  • Autopsy (noun) = a thorough examination of a corpse by dissection to determine the cause, mode, and manner of death

    • The coroner performed an autopsy to determine whether the victim had died of natural causes or if foul play was involved.

    • An autopsy will be conducted later today to determine the identity of the individual.

  • The peaceful demonstration in the park was organized to raise awareness about possible changes to the Constitution.

  • Where do you get your news?

    • I often read several newspapers to get a better idea of the real story.

    • So many news outlets have their own slant. They have certain ideals they want to get across.
