Topic: Talking about Food and Drink

In this lesson, students will develop conversation skills by talking about shopping and eating habits. The lesson also focuses on countable and uncountable nouns.

Lesson Notes April 14, 2026 (Elementary)

Words & Phrases

  • Everything in my garden is growing really well. The weather is great for growing.

  • I decided not to go to America. Instead of that, I would like to go Taiwan.

    • One reason not to go is the airplane ticket it so expensive, and the fuel surcharge is so high.

  • E-sims are very convenient when you travel.

  • Her daycare serves lunch everyday. It’s easy for parents, they don’t need to make a lunch. (We only use “lunchbox” for the container for carrying a packed meal)

  • I had to spit out the milk I drank, it was sour.

    • I tried a strange piece of meat, it tasted terrible. I spit it into my napkin.

  • Kids usually play with their food when they are not hungry.

    • My one son eats enough, while my other son eats more than enough. (“Enough” means to be satisfied, “more than enough” means to have a big appetite)

  • The poems are written from a boy’s point of view.
