January 20, 2025
The images below tell the story of what I saw as I walked around Tokyo on January 20th, 2025.
What did you do on this day?
The weather was much more favourable than the year before. It was pleasantly warm, which meant I could spend more time outside. Walking felt enjoyable rather than like a chore, so I chose a longer route and let myself take my time. In the end, I spent about two and a half hours outside. I did not take the day off, but I still managed to be productive and proactive, especially when I compare it to the year before.
How do you feel about the photos a year later?
Before looking at the images, I honestly could not remember what I had seen. I know the area well, and even though this walk was new for me, the route itself feels familiar. Even after looking at the photos, I still cannot pinpoint exactly where each one was taken. That does not really matter to me, though. What matters is the day itself and what I experienced while I was out there.
If you look closely at the images, you will notice similarities flowing from one to the next, with the exception of the reddish mass image. I would be surprised if anyone could guess what that abstract image actually is.
Maybe it was the weather, or maybe it was simply enjoying the walk, but I like these images far more than the ones from the year before.
