Words & Phrases

• I started taking a supplement to try to improve my mood and energy.

• I wanted to get a ticket for a piano recital. I had trouble on my pc, so in the end I gave up and will try again next time.

• Rabid fans (Noun phrase) = People who like a team, celebrity, or hobby so much that they become crazy, loud, or wildly excited about them.

  • The singer had to hire extra security guards because of her rabid fans at the airport.

  • Thousands of rabid fans cheered in the rain to support their soccer team.

• If the pot has a strong character you need to pair it with suitable flowers.

  • The pots he makes have very strong character.

• Lunch menus are usually not as (nice / good / delicious) as dinner menus.

  • We haven’t decided where to go for our birthday dinner yet.

  • We are undecided where to go for our birthday dinner.

• I enjoy chatting with my grandsons, because I know in a few years they will have their own lives and I won’t see them as often.

• Duplex (Noun) = A single building that is divided into two separate homes or apartments, side-by-side or on two levels.
