  • Who won the tennis match earlier today?

    • There’s a football match later tonight. (“Match” can be used for some sports teams, like football / soccer)

  • I could not understand what the chemist was talking about on the programme last night.

    • I studied chemistry in university.

  • I bought this at Uniqlo, but I did not go see the musical.

  • Brick and mortar (Adjective / Noun phrase) = Refers to a traditional business that operates in a physical building or street address, rather than existing solely online.

    • Many people still prefer buying shoes at a brick-and-mortar store so they can try them on first.

    • Although they started as an online shop, they recently opened their first brick-and-mortar location downtown.

  • Iceland has experienced a lot of volcanic eruptions in recent years.
