Grammar
Use “to” when you are talking about motion or direction towards a place or goal.
“I went to the store.” (motion towards the store)
“She went to the park.” (motion towards the park)
“We’re going to the concert.” (motion towards the concert)
When you use the word “there” to show the place, you don’t need to repeat “to.” So, you just say:
“I went there for lunch.” (No need for “to” before “there.”)
Key idea: “To” shows direction, but “there” already indicates the place, so “to” isn’t needed before “there.”
