Words & Phrases

• I got (a message/ a text) on Line from my friends cancelling our plans today.

• She spent the afternoon at the beach and got a nice tan. (noun)

  • Many people in the summer enjoy getting a sun tan, but it is important to protect your skin.

  • My skin tends to tan very quickly when the weather gets hot and sunny. (verb)

• I ran into a friend on the platform the other day, but we didn’t have any time to chat. (= phrasal verb that means you met someone by chance)

• Earlier this year, I replaced my old lenses with new (progressive / multifocal) lenses.

• Montbell sells very lightweight and compact folding umbrellas.
