We took my mother to the hospital. She’s not doing so well.
When she was at home, we stayed with her constantly. Now she is in the hospital, so we can't stay with her.
She’s hooked up to some machines, so I can’t help her now.
Are you busy getting ready for your trip?
Where are you going?
Are you travelling with your husband and your friends? (We don’t say “friend’s couple”)
A "couple" is a noun that shows two people in a relationship. We don't usually use it as a possessive like "friend's couple." Instead, we use "another couple" or simply “friends.”
I saw a movie called Rental Family. It was a heart-warming drama. It’s a movie about human connection.
The movie theatre was about half full. I don’t think anyone knows about it yet.
The movie was released on February 27.
The movie has been showing for a week.
I went to a sing-along concert where we got to sing with opera singers.
The ticket was only ¥1400 for a two-hour concert. It was well worth the money.
“Cost performance” (kosupa) is a technical term used in business factories. Some better phrases would be:
It was a great value.
It was a bargain.
It was a steal. (This is an idiom meaning it was so cheap it felt like stealing)
The concert hall is close to my home.
The concert hall is near my house.
The concert hall is within walking distance of my house.
The Kabuki Theatre is far from my home.
The Kabuki Theatre is a long way from my home.
The Kabuki Theatre is nowhere near where I live. (Very natural)
