Words & Phrases
“Today's forecast was on the mark.” (= 100% accurate)
"Today's forecast was spot on.”
"The weather report was right on the money.” (A classic idiom meaning perfectly precise)
I think octopus and erasers have the same texture. They are both overly chewy.
One evening, we decided to do some restaurant hopping. We grabbed snacks at the first spot, appetizers at a second, and wrapped up with entrees at the final place.
We went bar hopping downtown. (= moving from place to place for drinks)
Life is too short to be drinking cheap wine.
On hot summer days, (iced / ice / cold) green tea is the best.
Grammar
Grammatically, the word "iced" acts as a participle (a verb turned into an adjective) that describes what was done to the tea. The tea was brewed hot, and then it was iced (chilled with ice).
However the terms have changed over time
Iced cream —> ice cream
Iced water —> ice water
skimmed milk —> skim milk
waxed paper —> wax paper
