Words & Phrases

  • The performance was great, but the stage was smaller than I expected.

    • The line for one of the food stands went down one flight of stairs.

    • Two of my dance mates don’t do events. (= do not participate in events)

  • Luckily I caught an empty train for Karakida. (= heading in the direction of Karakida)

  • One of my friends was featured (in an article) in a body builder magazine! (“muscle building” is understandable)

  • Have you heard about the new (cold / chilled) Cup Noodles?
