Appropriate Language
Wintry mix (noun) = a type of cold wet weather that includes a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and sometimes rain
The forecast says we are getting a wintry mix tonight.
Driving is dangerous because the wintry mix is making the roads icy.
We thought it would snow, but it turned into a messy wintry mix.
Extreme Adjectives

The temperature and wind were freezing cold.
The wind was ice cold.
There was a awful line for the taxi, so we wandered around for 30 minutes in the rain.
My cousins and I were delighted to be together after one year.
The sun was (blazing hot / beating down).
“Blazing hot” means the sun itself felt extremely hot.
“Beating down” means the sunlight was shining very strongly on you, usually in a harsh or intense way.
