Words & Phrases

• In my home the temperature was twelve degrees.

• In summer, we use air conditioning.

• In winter, we use heating.

• Earlier this morning I went out and hung the laundry.

• I need to bring it in before I leave for dinner.

• Sophie made herself sick by eating and drinking too much too quickly.

• Often these days homes are equipped with heat pumps. They can cool rooms and heat them very easily.

• Air conditioning is pretty much necessary in summer these days.

• Having a good heater really makes winter bearable.

• We have a portable gas stove with one burner. It uses gas cylinders, which can be bought at most stores.

• I think I am prepared for most emergencies that might happen.

• A filling in one of my teeth came out two weeks ago. (We do not usually say ‘tooth fillings’)

• The dentist said I have some cavities, so I will be going to the dentist for a while.
