Who I Am

Hi, I'm Kristopher Matheson, a Canadian living in Tokyo, Japan. As an English teacher, I have a passion for helping people learn and grow. I'm also a creative interested in making art through photography. In my free time, I enjoy exploring my interest in bonsai and learning more about this ancient Japanese art form.

Growing up in rural Northern Ontario, Canada, I developed an appreciation for nature at an early age, yet I felt drawn to cultures and cities. After graduating from Trent University with a degree in Anthropology & Linguistics, I decided to travel to Japan in 2006 and teach English as a foreign language.

Over the years, I've gained a lot of experience as an English teacher, and I'm constantly looking for new and innovative ways to help my students learn. In addition to teaching, I'm also passionate about photography, and have begun to discover and learn about bonsai.

I believe in using my creativity and passion to help others reach their goals and explore their own creativity.
