One Day, One Year Later

  • This project is a chronicle of January 20th, documented with my camera and journal. The journal documents where I went, observations and any personal insights I made throughout the day. I also create a visual record with my camera of what I see or come across while I explore the city. Before the day ends the memory card from my camera is removed and sealed inside a time capsule, with none of the images being looked at until the following year. When the year has passed I critically examine the photos to see where I was and where I am and where I want to be a year from now, images are selected to tell a story of what I saw. I will continue this as long as I am able, as it will be invaluable to have a visual record of this one single day, which so happens to be the day I was born; this project is a gift to my future self.
