Seized (verb – past tense of seize) = to take hold of something quickly, forcibly, or legally

Dumbwaiter (noun) = a small freight elevator or lift used to carry food, dishes, or other items between floors in a building
This old house had a dumbwaiter, which was very unique for the Showa era.
We sent the laundry up to the bedrooms using the dumbwaiter.
Old hotels often had dumbwaiters to move luggage between floors.
Grammar
When we talk about a house, building, or residence connected to a family name, we usually use “the + family name + Residence/House”
