Words & Phrases
Not all deciduous leaves turn bright colours in autumn. While many do, producing reds, oranges, and yellows, some trees’ leaves just turn brown and fall without much colour change.
I have to cover my citrus trees in summer to protect it from various butterflies.
A persimmon tree covered in fruit like that is like a buffet for bears.
Hibernate (verb) = to spend a long period in a dormant or inactive state, usually to conserve energy during cold seasons, often referring to animals (Synonyms: sleep, slumber, rest)
Bears hibernate during the winter to conserve energy.
Some frogs hibernate at the bottom of ponds when it gets too cold.
He joked that he wanted to hibernate until summer arrived.
This cafe is usually a standalone, so it’s rare to find it inside a department store. (Here “standalone” means it’s normally in its own building, not part of another complex.)
Appropriate Language

Food / Cuisine; descriptions often highlight freshness and presentation: “fresh sushi,” “delicately presented dishes,” “seasonal ingredients,” or “umami-rich flavours.”
Overall experience; people might describe it as “a fine dining experience,” “casual and relaxed,” or “authentic Japanese dining.”
