Words & Phrases

  • I’m at my daughter’s house to take care of her cats.

    • That’s why your background is different today.

    • She has prepared an automatic (cat feed / food dispenser) for her cats, as well as a water fountain.

  • ‘Vet’ is the short form for ‘veterinarian’

  • Cats’ taste is less varied than ours and is strongly adapted for a meat-based diet, not for variety or pleasure the way we experience food.

  • “ネコスイ” is a Japanese slang word, it refers to the affectionate and often humorous act of burying your face into a cat’s fur — usually the belly or back — and sniffing or cuddling them closely.

  • Tibet is famous for its Buddhist monasteries and the Himalaya mountains.

    • The Dalai Lama is a spiritual leader from Tibet.

  • Are you going to vote in the election next weekend?

    • I’m having trouble deciding which party to vote for.

  • (Advanced / Early) voting has become popular.

    • I voted early in the last election.
